Embrace Divine Identity & Let Go of Judgement - Ep. 202
In this episode of Chocolate Cake Bytes, I continue an open and honest conversation with Brett about the challenge of embracing our divine identity and living authentically. We dive into how fear and self-judgment so often keep us from pursuing our real interests and promptings, and discuss how the opinions of others can hold us back from becoming the "five talent servants" we're meant to be.
Brett shares personal experiences about years spent putting limits on himself, whether it was hesitating to try acting or feeling he needed to fit a certain mold. We talk through the difference between living fearfully—trying to control outcomes—and living faithfully, willing to take bold action and trust that things will work out. I offer some stories from my own life about questioning decisions, overcoming the desire to “do things the right way,” and learning to see supposed impulses as spiritual promptings.
Together, we reflect on the idea that God does not want us to be clones or to play it safe, but to become the best version of ourselves—embracing our quirks, creative sides, and differences. The conversation ends with both of us committing to act on those inspired promptings and to give ourselves permission to expand into the unique individuals God created us to be.
